have you ever considered doing illustrations for childrens books? You have a very friendly and unique style and color pallet. People would love your work.

And I agree with NimbleBun, you should get commisioned for some childrens books, you're drawings fit right in. With all the beautiful colors and fun drawings, they'd be a smash hit (:

I do love to do traditional work but i don't have much space atm for painting, and for colouring i need to do it when there's daylight, but i'm usually at work, so it's pretty tough to get anything done. Although i am working on a pencil coloured phoenix atm

I would love to do childrens books, but i struggle to get any commisions sadly. But i would jump at the chance if the oppertunity came up

nah, you need to go to an illustration school for that kind of stuff. that way you'll get more knowledge and understanding about the business and how to go about doing that. Deviantfart isn't really the place to get enough work to make any money. And its also about who you know. If you know anybody who writes cute stories, offer to make pictures for them. Get some experience working with people and doing what they tell you to do.

well it's a rather long story tbh

I have been trying to go to uni for 3 years now, but everything keeps getting in my way, money, family, lack of places to live etc... and the closest uni to me that does those kind of courses is really far away, so i need money. I have been to college tho and studied art and graphics, but since then i've just been working to save money to do everything else and trying to fit art inbetween. I taught myself digital art since i left school... before that i was a traditional artist doing paintings and stuff, but back then i actually had a workspace. It's really complicated... and i'm in 2 minds to just give up on art as a career and finish my writing instead... but i don't know... life never turns out as you plan hehe

i'm 25 and i'm still in school

that sucks that you're having money issues. Writing is a great thing to get into. You could probably become an editor. Or you can write your own stories that you illustrate for being able to write is a wonderful thing.

Ah i wasn't sure And i didn't realise you were 25 either Most of the people on this site seem to be in their teens hehe.

Thanks, i am currently working on a story, which i hope i can one day try to publish, but atm it's mostly just for fun

I do graphic design. My gallery has some of my school projects that I did in school. One of those projects is an illustrated childrens book
